As many as 98 of them are from India. The hottest recorded temperature in the Grand Mosque of Mecca was 51.8 °C (125.2 °F) 2. This heartbreaking incident affected pilgrims from multiple countries, including Egypt, Jordan, Tunisia, Indonesia, and more . The Saudi government has yet to release an official report, but estimates indicate a devastating toll. More than half of those perished are unregistered pilgrims.
