Adulterated ghee seized in D-Mart

Rajasthan food safety department seized 450 liters of adulterated ghee during a raid at a D-Mart store in Malviya Nagar, Jaipur recently. The spurious ghee was sold under popular brands. The investigation revealed that the ghee supplied to D-Mart by the distributor was mixed with cans of adulterated ghee. The distributor, Khandelwal & Company, had been sourcing fake ghee from a small-scale manufacturing unit on the outskirts of the city. The unit was raided, and the owner was taken into custody. Ensuring food safety remains a top priority for the government and actions are being taken to prevent such incidents in the future.
