In a landmark achievement that defies climatic constraints, India’s inaugural commercial-scale tropical Rainbow Trout farm was inaugurated in Hyderabad on January 5, 2026. Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Rajiv Ranjan Singh officiated the event at the state-of-the-art facility in Kandukur Mandal, Ranga Reddy District, Telangana. Established by Smart Green Aquaculture Ltd, this Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS)-based farm harnesses precision engineering and advanced water recirculation to cultivate high-value cold-water species year-round in tropical conditions.
