the Joint Collector of Ranga Reddy district, MV Bhoopal Reddy, was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 8 lakh. The bribe was reportedly taken to process a complainant’s work by influencing higher officials to remove 14 guntas of land from the prohibited list on the Dharani website. The ACB caught Bhoopal Reddy red-handed along with a senior assistant, Y Madan Mohan Reddy, who was also involved in the bribery. Both officials have been remanded to judicial custody. Later the Joint Collector’s residence was also raided by the officials of the ACB. They seized reportedly Rs 16 lakhs along with some documents.
