The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), which administers the Lord Venkateshwara Swamy temple on Tirumala in Andhra Pradesh’s Chittoor district, has seen a change in leadership. Ahead of the visit of the newly elected Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to the shrine, AV Dharma Reddy, executive officer of the Devasthanam, went on leave. The government appointed a senior IAS officer J Syamala Rao, as the new executive officer of the TTD. Dharma Reddy, who had been on deputation to the TTD since 2019, was a close aide of YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president and outgoing chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. Dharma Reddy had been under scrutiny for alleged irregularities during his tenure in the TTD.
