 Army Tracker Dog Meru Retires After Distinguished Service

Meru, the valiant Army tracker dog from the 22 Army Dog Unit, has officially retired from service. This brave canine recently embarked on a first-class train journey to Meerut after his retirement. During his active duty, Meru participated in critical operations and served the nation for nearly two decades. Now, he will spend his remaining days at the Retirement Home for Dogs at the Remount Veterinary Corps (RVC) Center. It’s heartwarming to know that these loyal dogs receive care and attention even after their retirement.  Did you know that army dogs like Meru are deployed when they are around 13 to 15 months old and retire around 8 to 10 years of age? The RVC Center ensures their well-being from birth until retirement, and these remarkable dogs can even be adopted after their service.
