The Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh (AP) and Telangana met in Hyderabad to address long-standing issues stemming from the division of undivided Andhra Pradesh. The meeting, held at Mahatma Jyoti Rao Phule Praja Bhavan, focused on the division of state institutions as per the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act (2014). Notably, AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu initiated the process for high-level talks and Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy welcomed the proposal for a face-to-face meeting. The primary outcome was an agreement to form a high-level committee led by the Chief Secretaries of both states to resolve persistent issues between the two Telugu-speaking states. This development could pave the way for improved cooperation and the resolution of critical issues that have persisted over the last decade. Representatives of the two states met as any as 30 times since the bifurcation to resolve the issues. But this is the first time the Chief Ministers of the two states took part in such talks.
