Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel assumed full responsibility for counterterrorism and anti-sabotage security at the Indian Parliament complex starting from May 20, 2024. Over 3,300 CISF personnel are now part of the security deployment at Parliament House. This transition follows the withdrawal of over 1,400 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) staff from this crucial symbol of democracy. The CISF will guard both the old and new Parliament buildings, as well as associated structures in central Delhi. Their duties include securing entry gates, deploying canine squads, firefighting personnel, and monitoring CCTV control rooms. With this change, the CRPF and Delhi Police, who previously secured the Parliament, will no longer be involved in its security.
