It is with deep respect that we acknowledge the passing of Cherukuri Ramoji Rao, a visionary media baron and the founder of the Ramoji Group, which includes the renowned Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad, on June 8 (2024) . He was 87 years old and passed away while undergoing treatment.
His contributions to Indian media and the film industry have left an indelible imprint for future to generations to draw inspiration from. He will be remembered for his innovative spirit and dedication to excellence.
Ramoji Rao’s legacy includes the launch of Eenadu, a leading Telugu language daily newspaper, Newstime, an English daily, and multiple magazines. He has extended great support for numerous films and telefilms as a producer. He is known for his monumental contribution to print journalism, electronic media, and digital media, which was recognized by the government of India with prestigious awards, including the Padma Vibhushan.
